May is seen as a month of love, blossoming trees, sun in your hair and fresh beginnings. But while nature is blooming outside, maybe it’s the right time to allow yourself to blossom too. In our culture, we often give care and love to others – our partner, family, work. But what about ourselves? What about our body, skin, breath, emotions?

Self-love is not selfishness. It’s basic nourishment.

From the perspective of Ayurveda and Korean skincare, self-love is a way to restore balance, strengthen vitality and support the beauty that comes from within. It’s not just pampering, but a deep acceptance of yourself – even with imperfections, fatigue, dark circles under your eyes. Self-love means consciously indulging in what feels good, listening to your body and skin and responding with kindness.

May self-care that makes sense

1. Morning ritual as an act of love
Start the day by gently awakening your skin. Use a flower mist or Rose Kiss tonic with rose. Breathe deeply and take a few seconds just for yourself.

2. Facial massage – a touch that heals
In Korean care and Ayurveda, touch has healing powers. Apply a few drops of Sleeping Beauty or Lumen Magic facial oil and treat yourself to a gentle massage, for example using a gua-sha stone or just your fingertips. It stimulates lymph, brightens the skin and restores harmony.

3. Aromatherapy for the soul and skin
Scents are the gateway to emotions. That is why we also thought about their aromatherapeutic effect when developing our natural fragrances. The scent of Elysium brings you inner peace and well-being, Dreamscapes helps overcome anxiety and stress, Forbidden Orris is a perfume of feminine creativity and spiritual depth, Neroli Hue will support your inner strength and stability, and Holly Leather is a scent that supports concentration and anchoring.

4. Food as fuel
Feeling good in your body means paying attention to what you eat. because our well-being is closely related to how we feel in our body and food is our nutrition and fuel and can also influence how we cope with more difficult and stressful periods. as well as sufficient sleep. What foods to focus on in spring? Treat yourself to warm oatmeal or buckwheat porridge full of nutrients and minerals in the morning. Add turmeric, cinnamon, or cardamom for flavor. Cook homemade vegetable or legume soups that will fill you up. Eat spring vegetables and herbs, simply what is seasonal and ideally local, i.e. full of vitamins and spring sunshine. Combine raw and roasted vegetables, legumes. Listen to your body and treat yourself to what it needs. And sometimes reward yourself, for example with a piece of quality chocolate that will delight your senses. At Yage, we have combined the pleasant with the useful and created Beauty Bite chocolate with antioxidants, marine collagen and hyaluronic acid.

Final tip:
Try to treat yourself to at least 5 minutes every day in May purely for yourself. Without a mobile phone, without rushing. With cream, oil, tea, breath. With a smile.
Love begins with you.
And May is perfect for this.
